Alright. I have officially made this journey official.

After tearing my hair out for the... hold up... I have no hair.

After attempting to tear my hair out for the last four months, I have finally landed on exactly where I need to be.

I've been craving ownership again. Running my own venture, having full control, creative freedom, all of it.

In 2022 I stepped away from the business I co-founded, and for the last four years or so I've been building for others, which as a founder sounds so weird, but it has been an amazing experience.

My personal growth has been insane, truly, mainly because I have had months of incredible pain and, funnily enough, that's where growth sneaks in.

I got introduced to the world of SaaS, the world of bootstrapping and the world of building commercial software with various teams that I helped build.

But I can't escape that itch of wanting ownership again.

And when I couple that with my wiring, the perfect life for me, at least from where I'm standing right now, before I've experienced all the pain and heartache, looks very similar to the life Marc Lou has built.

I want to take all the hard and soft skills I've acquired running my own companies over the last eighteen years, my deep passion for marketing, building and creativity, and point them at micro products I build, run and own 100%.

I'm not walking away from eighteen years of experience. I'm finally pointing it at assets I own.

The North Star is pretty simple.

Build useful digital assets I own 100% that can earn without requiring my constant presence, so my time, creativity and income compound together.

And the only way to do that is to become a white belt again and put $0 on the scoreboard.

I say $0 because I'm not going to kid anyone and pretend I'm truly starting from zero. That would be dishonest. I have eighteen years of business experience, four companies and plenty of scars behind me.

But when it comes to independently building, publishing, charging for and operating software I own end to end, I am a white belt.

The scoreboard starts at $0. I don't.

I'm not starting over, I'm starting again.

Yes, I know how to position well, how to capture demand and market, how to build great offers and ultimately sell them by putting the right message in front of the right person at the right time.

But those skills were built in B2B services, jet charter and sales, and ecommerce.

Granted, the ecommerce venture was a trip, and I had some decent success there. But that was the last time I grew something organically without spending a penny on ads.

What worked from 2017 to 2020 probably doesn't work in 2026.

And I'm going to give building an audience another stab, but this time not around a brand or entity.

Around me and my bald noggin.

CEO, dad, with roughly twenty spare hours per week... this is either going to go well or go pear-shaped.

Time to fuck around and find out, eh!

Day 0: Tuesday the 4th of August 2026.

Eighteen months from today is Friday the 4th of February 2028.

The only thing standing between me and my $50k MRR goal is shipping, learning and fixing what breaks.

Small bets beat perfect plans.

Let's Build the Thing.

Catch you in the next one,
Tariq
